TALES FOR A SUMMER DAY
What a surprise to open the magazine--no arty little meals I’ll never eat, no arty little outfits I’ll never wear--just artful little stories. I enjoyed them all, especially Gerald Haslam’s “Upstream,†which insisted on being read again, out loud, to my husband and daughters. I also loved the artwork; I was entranced by Whitney Sherman’s illustration on the first page of “The Easterners,†by Alice Adams.
Thanks for the great stuff. Hey, how about a story every week?
