Valley Rangers Win Pair in Orange County

Right-hander Tim DeGrasse scattered nine hits in a complete game as the Valley Rangers beat the Brea Brewers, 5-2, in a first-round game of the Orange County Baseball Assn. tournament in Anaheim.

In a second-round game, the Rangers pounded out 15 hits, including four home runs and five doubles, and beat the Orange County Rangers, 13-3.

The game was called after seven innings because of the 10-run rule.

Steve Trainor (1-0) earned the win for the Rangers (35-11).
