Racial Epithet

About the Aug. 12 Outtakes item on the coming movie “Eleanor Roosevelt’s Niggersâ€:

Stanley Kramer claims that he “winces†every time he says the word nigger . And well he should--the term is a vile, vicious, racist epithet. But apparently he is not wincing at giving his film that title.

A movie title using this word will send a tacit message that racist epithets are OK. This will only enrage blacks and undo much of the good of the film, which will depict the exploits and hardships of the black soldiers of the 761st Tank Battalion.

A producer would not dare think of using such equality offensive epithets as dago , kike , mick or Polack in the title of a film on a white ethnic group.
