Recruiting Stories Can Have Different Ending Second Time Around

Sitting in Pauley Pavilion last year as UCLA routed my beloved Trojans, I took solace in knowing deep down that Ed O’Bannon would be in the cardinal and gold in 1991.

Now all my UCLA friends are leaving messages on my answering machine and calling at the office to rub it in.

This is a plea to the athletic department at USC: Help turn this around by keeping George Raveling another five years and getting the on-campus facility built in record time. George’s team improved drastically last year, and a new gym will seduce the O’Bannons of the world to come aboard.
