A San Diego gang detail detective fired shots at an armed 17-year-old male Friday evening, police reported. The youth was not injured during the incident.
The detectives were responding to a call at 6:23 p.m. of gunshots at 155 South Meadowbrook Drive. Upon arriving at the intersection of Meadowbrook Drive and Skyline, the detectives saw a gunfight among three males and a vehicle driving away from the scene.
The detectives then tried to question three males, one of whom was armed, about the incident.
After identifying themselves as police officers, the youth aimed the gun at an officer and the officer fired several rounds. The youth dropped the gun and ran but was caught by the officers.
