Canyon Hires Lopez as Football Assistant
Harry Welch solidified his Canyon High football staff Friday with the addition of former Alemany Coach Enrique Lopez.
Lopez, who will be in charge of tight ends and linebackers, joins Ed Ramirez and Sean Scully as a first-year assistant under Welch.
Lopez, 37, was head coach at Alemany from 1984-87 and was an assistant at Canyon in 1988. Last season, he was the offensive coordinator at St. Francis.
Ramirez, who will coach running backs and the defensive secondary, is a former coach at Pasadena Muir, Artesia and La Canada.
Scully, a former All-Golden League defensive back and wide receiver at Canyon, will coach players at those positions.
