SIMI VALLEY : Construction Begins on 25-Acre Park
The Rancho Simi Recreation and Parks District has begun construction of the 25-acre Rancho Madera Community Park and is expanding its 10-acre Rancho Tapo Community Park.
Rancho Madera Park, at Wood Ranch Parkway and Lake Park Drive, will include a softball diamond, soccer field and a perimeter walkway.
The first phase of the park construction will cost about $1 million, with money coming from developers’ fees and the park district’s general fund, parks spokesman Rick Johnson said.
Rancho Tapo Park, at Avenida Simi and Lemon Street, will be expanded by six acres. Completion of the two parks will cost $3.2 million, Johnson said.
