Mural Dedication
A mural by Fairfax-area senior citizens that depicts Melrose Avenue at dusk will be dedicated Sunday at the Fairfax Senior Citizen Center, 7929 Melrose Ave.
More than 30 senior citizens worked on the mural, which consists of 60 panels of butcher paper pasted together. A year in the making, the mural hangs from the back wall of the senior citizen center’s stage.
The volunteer artists, instructor Saundra Moss, Los Angeles City Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky, local merchants and city Recreation and Parks officials are expected to attend the dedication ceremony, which will begin at 11 a.m.
