Los Angeles : Feinstein Picks Councilman

Democratic gubernatorial nominee Dianne Feinstein has named Los Angeles City Councilman Michael Woo to head her Southern California advisory committee on Asian and Pacific-Americans.
Feinstein announced the appointment during a campaign stop in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The committee, composed of community and business leaders from various Asian and Pacific communities in Southern California, will advise Feinstein on education, small business assistance and other issues of importance to those communities.
Woo, a Democrat, is the only Asian who has served on the council. He was first elected in 1985 and reelected in 1989.
