Little League Team to Play for Title
The Woodland Hills Sunrise Little League team rode the complete-game pitching of Brian Menkin to a 7-3 win over Crescenta Valley on Wednesday night at Stearns Field in Long Beach to win the losers’ bracket of the state divisional tournament and advance to the championship game.
Menkin, who struck out nine and surrendered eight hits, was helped along by home runs from Jon Relles and David Vargas. Woodland Hills will play Cypress, the champion of the winners’ bracket, tonight at 6. Woodland Hills must beat Cypress twice to win the title.
