OJAI : Fair Board Buys Artist’s Painting
Ojai artist Lois Powers has won a place in the Ventura County Fair Board of Directors’ permanent collection.
“Shortcut Home†is a 28- by 35-inch watercolor depicting geese flying in a rural landscape. It cost the board $325.
In the past, the fair board chose paintings depicting fair themes, but this year the competition was expanded to include all pieces.
Powers has been painting watercolors professionally since she moved to Ojai in 1972.
