Biola Debate Team Ranked 11th in U.S.
LA MIRADA — Biola University’s 1989-90 speech and debate team has been ranked 11th in the nation among small colleges and universities by the Intercollegiate Speech Tournament Results, the official ranking source for the almost 700 American schools that compete in forensic activities.
Biola ranked 48th overall among all colleges and universities, finishing ahead of Harvard (52nd), USC (57th), and UC Berkeley (99th). The Biola team won more than 200 individual and team awards in the academic year just ended, including a fifth-place finish at the national tournament. Biola’s top speaker, Cypress resident Don Riddick, finished the year as the 17th most successful speaker in the history of national forensics.
