South Pasadena : Lobbying Against Freeway
- Share via
On the lobbying trail in their fight against extension of the Long Beach Freeway, six community leaders traveled Wednesday to Sacramento.
Today they plan to show their support for State Sen. Art Torres (D-Los Angeles), who is scheduled to address the state Transportation Commission and is expected to urge that the project receive lower priority.
Mayor Evelyn Fierro, Mayor Pro Tem Dick Richards and former mayor Alva Lee Arnold were among those making the trip in a city van. “We’re car-pooling,” Fierro said. “It’s cheaper than flying.”
