Safeguard Health Enterprises Inc.: The Anaheim-based provider of fixed-fee dental care plans reported that net income for the second quarter declined 30%, to $564,000 compared to $802,000 a year earlier. Revenue dropped 4%, to $14.9 million from $15.6 million. For the six- month period, net income was down 31%, to $1.1 million from $1.6 million a year earlier. Revenue declined 4%, to $30.1 million from $31.2 million. The company said overall expenses were higher in 1990 than for the year-earlier period.
