LMU and Bradley Invited to Irvine’s Basketball Event

Loyola Marymount will be the top team at UC Irvine’s Disneyland Freedom Bowl basketball tournament, Nov. 30-Dec. 1.

The Irvine men’s team, which last year lost in the tournament final to Tennessee Chattanooga and finished the season 5-23, will meet Idaho State (6-21) in the first round at 8 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Bren Center. Loyola Marymount (26-6) will play Bradley (11-20) at 6 p.m. and the winners will meet at 8 p.m. Dec. 1.

In the women’s field, Irvine (1-27) will play Monmouth (N.J.) College (7-19) at 3 p.m. Nov. 30 and Cleveland State (8-20) will play Portland State (17-20) at 1 p.m. The winners will meet for the championship at 3 p.m. Dec. 1.
