GM-Toyota Venture: Toyota Motor Corp. may take control of its joint venture plant with General Motors Corp. in Fremont, Calif., when the option arises in 1996, an executive said. If Toyota acquires the New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. factory, it will double its own U.S. manufacturing base. Neither firm has said which one would own the plant after the deal ends. The factory produces the Geo Prizm for GM and the Toyota Corolla.
