Alleged Bigamist Held in Bomb Attack on First Wife
Associated Press
WOONSOCKET, R.I. — A man was arraigned and jailed Saturday for trying to kill his wife with a car bomb because he had married another woman and did not want to face a messy divorce, police said.
Ronald M. Harnois, 40, and his second wife, Tammy Petrin, 20, were charged with conspiring to kill Joanne Harnois, 36, police said.
Mrs. Harnois was not injured when one of six pipe bombs attached to the undercarriage of her car exploded while she was driving, police said.
Petrin was arraigned and freed on $10,000 bail.
