A 42-year-old woman was in fair condition at UC San Diego Medical Center on Friday after being stabbed several times at the Colina del Sol Park recreation center in East San Diego, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Carol Ann Olinski was stabbed in the neck, chest and arms shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday, said Dave Cohen, a San Diego police spokesman. The attacker was described as a white man in his 30s who is about 6 feet tall.
The police said Olinski is believed to be a transient. Police do not know what prompted the attack, Cohen said.
