The average business executive spends about 60 hours a year on hold on the telephone, according to a survey.

The survey commissioned by the personnel agency Accountemps asked questions of 200 executives of the nation’s 1,000 largest corporations. They were asked how much time they spend on hold, as well as on unnecessary meetings and memos.

According to the results, the average executive spends 15 minutes a day on hold.
