Winners Chosen in Cleanup Week Poster Contest
MAYWOOD — Deanna Fasthorse of Zion Lutheran School won first prize in a cleanup poster contest sponsored by the Maywood Chamber of Commerce as part of the city’s Cleanup Week, July 9 to 14. Her poster design will be used on Cleanup Week T-shirts. Second place was won by Raul Gonzalo of St. Rose of Lima School, and third place went to Ana Medrano of Heliotrope Avenue School.
On July 14, volunteer residents will meet at 8 a.m. at the chamber office to do cleanup work at various sites around the city. Volunteers will work from 8 a.m to noon. Afterward, there will be a barbecue at Maywood City Park, 4801 E. 58th St., for all those who help out. For more information, call Claire Beard at the Chamber of Commerce, 562-3373.
