Prince Charles Leaves Hospital With Arm in Sling--and Wife a Year Older

LONDON — Britain’s Prince Charles, who broke an arm in a fall from a polo pony, left the hospital Sunday, the 29th birthday of his wife, Princess Diana.
The 41-year-old heir to the throne was taken to the hospital at Cirencester, western England, after he broke his right arm in two places in the fall Thursday.
“Doctors are pleased with the prince’s progress,” said his press secretary, Dickie Arbiter. “The swelling in his arm has gone down.”
Princess Diana accompanied the prince when he left the hospital with his arm in a sling.
“You can all go home at last,” he told journalists as he climbed into his car.
The fall prompted fresh appeals for Prince Charles to take fewer risks.
The Sunday Telegraph newspaper said his sporting activities--skiing, flying, parachuting, scuba diving, sailing and windsurfing, as well as polo--would all be classed by an insurance company as “hazardous” or “very hazardous.”
Although the prince said his latest fall was “a silly thing to do,” he has given no sign that he plans to ease up.
