East, West to Talk of Environment

DUBLIN, Ireland — Environment ministers from the European Community meet today with their Eastern European colleagues to discuss the former Communist Bloc’s nightmarish environmental problems.
“It’s the first time the full EC council has met their counterparts in Eastern Europe to discuss problems in any sector,” said a spokesman for Ireland’s Environment Department.
The daylong meeting in medieval Dublin Castle includes representatives from the Soviet Union and Sweden.
