San Diego
Gunfire from a passing car killed one San Diego teen-ager and wounded another Tuesday night.
Ray Omar Brown, 18, died at 10:22 p.m. in the 4000 block of Boston Avenue, and Steven Turner, 18, was shot in the upper leg, a police spokesman said.
Brown, a student at Garfield High School, and Turner were standing outside a house when an unknown number of shots were fired from a passing car, the spokesman said.
Officers responded at 10:10 p.m. to a report of shots fired and found the two teens wounded, the spokesman said.
An autopsy was scheduled for today. Turner was treated at Physicians & Surgeons Hospital and released.
The police gang and homicide units are investigating, the spokesman said, adding that neither shooting victim was armed. There were no witnesses and police have no description of the car from which the shots were fired, he said.
