A 15-year-old Fountain Valley boy remained in critical but stable condition Tuesday after falling off the hood of his friend’s slowly moving car and hitting his head, authorities said.
Ernest Cameron has been semiconscious with head injuries at UCI Medical Center in Orange since Sunday’s 11 p.m. accident, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Cameron and another teen-ager had been riding on the hood of their friend’s car for a couple of blocks before the accident, Police Sgt. Keith Levin said.
When the friend made a left turn from El Rancho Avenue to Santa Madrina Lane at about 10 to 15 m.p.h., Cameron fell off the hood, he said.
The driver, 18-year-old Daniel Deaton, has not been cited for the accident, Levin said.
