IBM Gets Environmental Award: The computer giant has received the World Environment Center’s sixth-annual Gold Medal for International Corporate Environmental Achievement. IBM was praised for “innovative programs and projects that stimulate nations and industry to enhance and protect the global environment.” The company operates in 130 countries. The New York-based environment center is a nonprofit organization promoting environmentally sensitive industrial practices.
