LOOKIN’ GOOD: Artisans in Dublin, Tex., have finished refurbishing the county airport’s nine-foot statue of John Wayne, and they say he’s looking better than ever. . . . Years of pigeons and ocean air had turned Duke a dark, unflattering green--all except the hand tourists hold while posing for snapshots. . . . Acids have been applied to create “lifelike” shades of skin and apparel. . . . Duke may return next month, but he won’t appear publicly until the new terminal opens this fall (B1).
