OXNARD : Man Arrested Over Fire at Apartment
A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of setting fire to the Oxnard apartment he shared with his girlfriend, authorities said.
Lynn Waterloo is being held in the Ventura Jail, in lieu of $100,000 bail, in the Sunday fire at the one-bedroom apartment on the 5000 block of Nautilus Street, said Capt. Pat Logue, an investigator for the Oxnard Fire Department.
The fire, which caused an estimated $10,000 damage, probably was started with a match or cigarette lighter, Logue said.
Witnesses identified Waterloo as a suspect, and he was arrested at 6:45 p.m. Monday, Logue said.
Waterloo apparently had a dispute with his girlfriend, Logue said. She was visiting her mother in Camarillo when the fire began, Logue said.
