The City Council has decided to establish a program to recycle paper and other materials used at City Hall.

The council directed City Administrator Louis Sheppard to develop a recycling and conservation program in the next few weeks. In addition to saving office paper for recycling, the city will try to use two-sided printing whenever possible.

Sheppard also is considering issuing coffee mugs to employees to reduce the number of disposable cups used at City Hall.

“We need to determine if all the problems are being addressed before we proceed,†he said.
