Lincoln Savings Failure Won’t Cost Uncle Sam
- Share via
In “Lincoln S&L; Posts Loss of $1 Billion for Year,” (March 28) the last line reads “the failure of the thrift . . . could cost the government more than $2 billion.”
This is wrong. It will not cost the “government” one cent because it has no money.
It will cost the taxpayers $2 billion--or more.
