Irwindale : Mayor, Vice Mayor Elected

The City Council has unanimously elected Richard Chico mayor and Robert Diaz vice mayor. Both will serve one-year terms.
Chico replaces former Mayor Salvador Hernandez, and Diaz replaces Patricio Miranda. Hernandez and Miranda remain on the council.
After last Thursday’s council vote, Chico said he wants to “reactivate” development and redevelopment in Irwindale, which slowed down for 2 1/2 years while the city tried unsuccessfully to land the Los Angeles Raiders.
