Pierce Wins NBA Sixth Man Award

NEW YORK — Ricky Pierce of Milwaukee, who led the Bucks with an average of 23 points per game, has been voted the NBA’s Sixth Man award for the second time.
Pierce, whose average was tops among among sixth men, got 77 of a possible 92 votes from a panel of sports writers and broadcasters.
Indiana’s Detlef Schrempf was second with eight votes. He was followed by Phoenix’s Eddie Johnson, last year’s winner; Cleveland’s John Williams; the Lakers’ Orlando Woolridge, and Sacramento’s Antoine Carr.
