Tangy Herbed Blue Cheese Dip

Herbed Blue Cheese Dip contains many of the basic ingredients found in other dips and dressings. But the addition of herbs, garlic, lemon juice and blue cheese makes the difference.

It can be served as a dip for raw vegetables or as a sauce over cooked tortellini or other pasta as an appetizer or a main course.

HERBED BLUE CHEESE DIP

3/4 cup mayonnaise

3/4 cup sour cream

1/4 cup lemon juice

1 or 2 cloves garlic, minced

1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves, crumbled

1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves, crumbled

1/3 cup crumbled blue cheese

Raw vegetables or cooked tortellini

Combine mayonnaise, sour cream and lemon juice in bowl. Stir until smooth. Add garlic, basil, oregano and cheese and mix well. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours to allow flavors to blend.

Spoon dip into bowl and surround with raw vegetables or pour as sauce over cooked tortellini. Makes 2 cups.
