Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis’ Whole Theater in Montclair, N.J., is closing. Dan Gaby, board chairman of the theater--Dukakis was co-founder and artistic director--says the group would need up to $1 million to pay off accumulated debt, cover next season’s expected deficit and create a cash reserve. Dukakis says she regretfully agrees with the decision. . . . Discord prevails in a planned name-change for an organization of women barbershop singers that no longer wants to be known as Sweet Adelines Inc. The Tulsa-based group, which claims 30,000 members in a dozen countries, wants to be called Harmony International Corp., but an unrelated harmony group called Harmony Inc. has filed a lawsuit seeking to halt the change, saying the names would be too similar.
