NAMES IN THE NEWS : NBA Fines 6 Players in Week

NEW YORK — Six players were fined $10,750 by the NBA Thursday for their roles in separate incidents in games over the last week.
The largest fine was $5,000 imposed on Houston’s Akeem Olajuwon for pushing Sacramento’s Greg Kite in the face with both hands during a game at Houston on Tuesday night. Olajuwon was ejected after the third-quarter incident.
Jerry Reynolds of Orlando was fined $3,500 for involvement in an altercation with Detroit’s Bill Laimbeer during the final minute of the game between the Magic and Pistons last Saturday in Detroit. Laimbeer was fined $750 for a flagrant foul on Reynolds and James Edwards, Scott Hastings and William Bedford of Detroit were fined $500 each for leaving the bench area.
