Toledo’s City Manager Selected for Pasadena

The Pasadena Board of Directors has asked the city manager in Toledo, Ohio, to become that community’s new city manager.
The board met Wednesday in closed session and chose Philip Hawkey, 43, from three finalists, Mayor William Thomson said. If Hawkey accepts the post, he will take the job in June and replace City Manager Donald McIntyre, who is retiring from the post after 17 years.
Hawkey’s salary has yet to be negotiated, Thomson said, but the city is prepared to pay up to $125,000 annually. The new city manager will be responsible for 1,600 employees and an annual budget of $226 million.
