Elvis Tribute Released, but Not Here: The long-anticipated British album of Elvis Presley remakes by top rock stars is finally out. But don’t hop in your car and head to the local record store. The two-CD set of “Elvis: Songs From His Movies,†is only available in Europe. No U.S. release is planned, and the album is only available by mail order through April. Among the Elvis tributes: “Viva Las Vegas†by Bruce Springsteen, “It’s Now or Never†by Paul McCartney, “Can’t Help Falling in Love†by Hall and Oates, “Let’s Have a Party†by Robert Plant, “Guitar Man†by the Jesus and Mary Chain, and the Cramps’ punk version of “Jailhouse Rock.†The set also includes Presley’s previously unreleased version of “King of the Whole Wide World.†Proceeds from sales go to Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy for mentally disabled children.
