Live Entertainment Inc.: The Los Angeles-based entertainment company formerly led by the late Jose E. Menendez reported record year-end income for 1989 of $19.4 million, up 10% from 1988 figures. Record sales totaled $437.3 million, a gain of 24%. The firm, which has subsidiaries in music, films and computer software, attributed the results in part to the acquisition on June 9, 1989, of the retail chain Strawberries, proceeds from insurance covering Menendez and an increase in sales of children’s home videos.
