The UCLA men’s track and field team will play host to California today in a dual meet at Drake Stadium. Field events begin at 1 p.m.; the first running event is at 2.
Cal is led by sprinter Atlee Mahorn, who finished fifth in the 200 meters in the 1988 Olympic Games at Seoul while representing Canada. The Bears also have two high jumpers who have cleared 7 feet 2 inches in Mike Harris and Jeff Rogers, and a pair of long jumpers who have surpassed 26 feet in Kevin Smith and Curtis Rogers. Harris is a also a 53-foot triple jumper.
The USC men’s team will compete today in the Stanford Invitational at Palo Alto.
