Bradley Urges Residents to Fill Out Census Forms

Mayor Tom Bradley, saying Los Angeles could lose tens of millions of dollars in aid if there is a major undercount in the 1990 Census, urged residents Monday to complete their census forms and return them to the government by April 1.
“Everyone who has contributed to this census effort is well aware of what is at stake if Los Angeles is undercounted, as it was in 1980,” Bradley said at a news conference at the Urban League office, where he was joined by community leaders and officials involved in census outreach efforts.
Bradley said the city has 120 locations where residents can get help to fill out their census forms. Additional help is being offered by churches, businesses, schools, community organizations and senior centers.
