In Hong Kong, Who Ya Gonna Call?
HONG KONG — If you’ve got ghosts in Hong Kong, who you gonna call? The colonial government.
Officials in the British colony have agreed to pay $128,200 for ghostbusters--in the form of Taoist priests--to rid the ancient village of Ha Tsuen of evil spirits.
Residents of the village, which dates back to the 13th Century Sung dynasty, claim that evil spirits have been disturbed by tunneling associated with a sewage-treatment project on a nearby hill, where many of their ancestors are buried.
“Ha Tsuen people are very superstitious,†said Tang Chik-kit, chairman of the village rural committee.
