MOORPARK : Driver Thrown From Car Killed
A 24-year-old woman wearing a seat belt was killed when she was thrown from her car after she missed a curve at high speed on a windy road north of Moorpark. Her two passengers were not injured.
Lillian Garcia of Oxnard was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:10 a.m. Friday, 40 minutes after the single-car accident, said Dale Zentzis of the Ventura County coroner’s office.
Garcia was heading east on the Moorpark Freeway just north of Moorpark when she missed the 90-degree turn in the road at Broadway, the California Highway Patrol said.
