Trust Fund Set Up for Family of Slain Mother
A trust fund has been established to help the husband and child of a pregnant woman who was murdered during a brutal Feb. 26 attack in the family’s Huntington Park home.
Named after Sylvia Enriquez, the slain mother, the fund is sponsored by Montroy Supply Co. in Commerce, which employs Alfredo Enriquez, 27, as a warehouse manager. Donations may be sent to Wells Fargo Bank, 2559 S. Eastern Ave., Commerce, 90040.
“He doesn’t make a lot of money since he hasn’t returned to work yet,†Tom Riddlespurger, Enriquez’s boss, said.
Police renewed their plea for the public’s help in finding one of two men who burst into the Enriquez home and terrorized the family last month. Walter Steve Scott, 18, was arrested Tuesday in Hawthorne and charged with the murders of Enriquez, 24, and her 8-month-old fetus. A second suspect, Glenford Brooks, 16, remains at large.
