WORLD : Woman Jumps to Crocodile Death

BANGKOK, Thailand — A young woman jumped into a pond filled with crocodiles as hundreds of horrified tourists watched in what police described today as a suicide.
The unidentified woman in her early 20s died of multiple bites after jumping into a pond Sunday at the Samut Prakkan Crocodile Farm, said Lt. Col. Sanya Weechareon, a police inspector at the Paknam Police Station.
Some tourists stopped the woman the first time she climbed the fence around the pond, but she returned, scaled the fence and jumped in, Sanya said.
Some of the hundreds of crocodiles in the pond swarmed over the woman and bit her repeatedly as hundreds of tourists and farm officials watched in horror, the officer said.
