Dec. 5 Jail Escapee Arrested in Denver
An inmate who escaped in December from San Diego County Jail in Chula Vista was arrested Tuesday in a Denver motel room.
Martin C. Wiggins, 25, was arrested by Denver police acting on information received by the FBI, said Deputy Robbie Hill of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
Wiggins gave officers a false name but did not resist arrest, Hill said. Wiggins was identified through fingerprints and tattoo information supplied to the Denver police by San Diego deputies.
Wiggins is the fifth of seven inmates who broke out of the jail Dec. 5 to have been recaptured. He was being held on a parole violation and charges of burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of firearms.
