Glaser Pleads for AIDS Funding: Actor Paul Michael Glaser pleaded with Congress Tuesday to increase funding and help find a cure for AIDS, which killed his 7-year-old daughter in 1988 and threatens his wife and son. Glaser’s wife Elizabeth, who joined the appeal at a House Budget Committee hearing, said she received the AIDS virus in 1981 from a contaminated blood transfusion during the birth of her daughter Ariel, then unknowingly gave the virus to Ariel and her son Jacob, born three years later, through breast feeding. Elizabeth Taylor last week made a similar plea before the same committee.
