Thomas Nelson of Bishop pleaded guilty in a settlement conference of unlawfully killing a trophy-class pronghorn antelope on the Bodie range near Bridgeport last September.
Judge N. Edward Denton imposed the maximum penalties under state law and the state fish and game code. Nelson, 48, must pay fines of $4,200, serve 48 hours in jail, do 40 hours of community service and will be on formal probation for three years, with no hunting rights.
