Greg LeMond returned to cycling competition by finishing 16th in the first stage of the Paris-Nice race, the opening major race of the cycling season. Second-year pro Francis Moreau won over the 4.2-mile course in eastern Paris in 9 minutes 15.09 seconds. LeMond’s time was 9:42.78.
