WOMEN’S ROUNDUP : Washington Routs UCLA
The University of Washington women’s team showed UCLA why it is ranked fourth in the country as the Huskies routed the Bruins, 83-68, Saturday night in a Pacific 10 game at Seattle.
Forward Karen Deden scored 18 points to lead six players in double figures. The Huskies (24-2 overall, 15-1 in Pacific 10 Conference play) dominated the game and led, 45-26, at halftime.
Michelle Wootton scored 18 points to lead UCLA (16-11, 11-6).
Washington State 73, USC 64--Junior forward Angie Miller scored 25 points, including 18 in the first half, to lead the Cougars past the Trojans in a Pacific 10 game at Pullman, Wash.
USC (8-18, 6-11) trailed by five points with one minute to play, but Dawn Allinger made a basket and three free throws to clinch the win for the Cougars (15-11, 7-9).
