Man, 20, Shot to Death Outside Liquor Store
A 20-year-old North Hollywood man was shot to death in the parking lot of a liquor store, possibly by members of a rival gang, Los Angeles police said Friday.
Jose Luis Palma was shot once in the upper torso with a small-caliber handgun at about 10:40 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of a liquor store at Coldwater Canyon Boulevard and Vanowen Street, said Detective Mike Coffey.
Police were alerted to the shooting by a witness who called 911. The witness gave a description of the car that the gunmen were driving, and part of a license plate number, Coffey said.
When police arrived, Coffey said, they found Palma, but the witness was gone.
