Reagan’s Taped Testimony
I wonder if we would be dragging ourselves through the murky waters of the Iran-Contra troubles if that bizarre scheme had been a success and all the hostages had been brought home.
I also wonder if Reagan’s detractors might be a little more charitable and think of him not in terms of that failure, but as the American President who walked through Red Square with Mikhail Gorbachev--and quite possibly changed the political climate of the world in so doing.
